Use: Lock the wire external connector or other pipe fittings. The working principle of the nut is to use the friction between the nut and the bolt for self-locking. However, the reliability of this self-locking can be reduced in the dynamic load. In some important occasions, we will take some measures to prevent loose, to ensure the reliability of locking nut.
The locking nut is one of the measures to prevent loosening.
Lock Nut also has three kinds:
The first is to use two of the same nut screwed on the same bolt, the two nuts with a tightening torque, so that the bolt connection reliable. The second is a special anti-pine nut that needs to be used with a loose gasket.
The special anti-pine nut is not a hexagon nut, but a middle round nut, there are 3, 4, 6 or 8 notches in the circumference of the nut (depending on the size of the nut and the product series of the manufacturer), these gaps are both the focus of the tightening tool and the card entry for the loose gasket card. The third is in the nut outside the circle surface to the internal circle thread bore drilled threaded holes (generally 2, the outer circle is 90 distribution), used to twist into small diameter countersunk head screws, the purpose is to give the thread to apply a centripetal direction of force, to prevent the lock nut loose. The market on the quality of the relatively good lock nut in the nut inside the round surface with the lock nut thread consistent with the copper block, used to avoid the radial tightening screws directly with the lock thread contact and damage the latter.
This type of lock nut is gradually applied to the shaft end locking of rotating moving parts, such as the loose of ball screw mounting end bearing. The second method of prevention is more reliable than the first, but the structure is relatively complex.
Compared with the first two, the third Bell has the advantages of better anti loosening and more simple and beautiful structure and smaller axial size.
